Now that you know what twitter is about, a miniblog

When you are on twitter: look on the right handside of the page below your picture. You have three numbers . From the right to the left , the first number relates to your number of tweets (what you have been writing)  the second number which says followers = the people who are following you. The last number is about the people You choose to follow or “following”. The second number is the important one.Your followers are  the potential listeners.From there it gets very exciting when your mailbox gets clogged up with DMs =direct messages and the notice:” I am now following you”. Yes indeed you are going to collect people!

But the idea is to collect people who have an interest for you. So define your fields of interest: law, medecine, health, pets, alarm systems, gardening; the list is long you will be amazed… go to your search browser

(I keep a small google on the bottom bar of the screen, which allows me to search without losing my page, very handy, and it is an option that google gives you in the apps.)

and type TWELLOW.com

it is a twitter application, there are hundreds of them. You will have to register.

once that is done, you have 2 search lines

look for —-people in Kansas city—–     ……………….computer equipment——..         This second entry is not typed by you; a large dropdown menu opens up with all the activities and subjects you can imagine, so you pick one. Then push Search.

The you will have a list of the people and companies that correspond to your search. Now it is simple, clik on all of them . This will bring them to your twitter page in the following part. Remember you chose to follow them.

Then give it a litle time a couple of hours and your email box will be full of twitter, who are the people who then choose to follow you back

So this is the basic technique regarding twitter.

You are interested by some topics require some information, you look for it in twellow and acquire the people with the information and wait until they follow you.

Now there are quite a few more things of course. And one is to tweet. So find information or you have information on your subject and you write a tweet 140 character long including the reference , source of your information.

You will discover that just the link could take you all the space.

go back to your browser and type bit.ly and a friendly page opens up and ask you to type your long URL. The next button says Shorten. And here you go, you have your tweet and a very short URL(which counts in the tweet number!)

So Start practising with these two applications and write a few tweets and then we will pursue more in depth. Have fun!
